# News Channel stuck at the loading page

Hi! I’m having an issue with the News Channel. I’m using WiiLink24 on a Wii 4.3U. The Wii connects to the internet correctly, WiiLink Mail is working, and the News Channel banner on the Wii Menu displays news normally. However, when I open the News Channel, it gets stuck indefinitely on “Downloading… This may take a few moments.”

I already tested it using two different internet connections, including a phone hotspot, and the problem happens on both. I also recently replaced the Wii’s CR2032 battery and manually set the correct date and time, but the problem remains.

Could you please tell me what you recommend checking next?

Update: I replaced the Wii’s CR2032 battery and synchronized the date/time using SNTP. The News Channel no longer stays stuck forever on “Downloading…”. It now eventually opens after approximately 5 minutes and 30 seconds. However, the news that previously appeared on the Wii Menu banner no longer appears there.

I tested multiple internet connections and the behavior is the same. Could this be related to the News Channel’s downloaded data/files or the current News Channel backend?
