Errorcode NEWS000006 if I try to acces News Channel with german language

So according to this: News Channel - WiiLink the News Channel should work on german language. However if I try, it gives me NEWS000006 but on english it works fine!
Does the Website just say, that it has news sources from german sources? If yes the Website is kinda confusing.

The website is outdated, only English is supported at present.

Ohh, thanks for the answer

Can u help me, to change my Mii Artisan Account?

I don’t know if they updated the news channel. When i open the news channel, the error code news000006 takes much longer to appear, instead of the instant error. And on the channel’s icon and banner, i cam see the news. But no matter when I enter, I always get news000006. How to fix it?
Update: i tried English and instead i got error 117404 so i just reinstalled the wad and it got me into the setup, i still was in English and once i saw it, i exited and reset my language to my original one, i setup up and got an error code but this was for the wifi, so i fixed the wifi, i still got the news000006 in my language and the 117404 in English. I think there’s something wrong with the servers

English is still the only supported language of this, or is your language already set to english?

ye also happened to me, but the news on my language looked weird, probably bad translation.

Bro try switching your language to Italian, it’s my country. You still get news on the icon and banner, but on the channel itself, it slaps the error straight to you

same on german

I also had this error, and I’ll explain the situation:

All the Wiilink channels works, except the News Channel, that gives error NEWS000006 in your language (and also mine that is Italian) and error 117404 (This error means that can’t find the information) if you just change the language in English (without changing the country) but it still shows the news on the Wii menu. This is because the Wii (or vWii, Wii mini) can load the news.bin file (the file that can show the news on Wii menu) but not the newslist.dat and newscontent.arc files, the files that permit you to see the fully news on the channel. This also happened in the past with Riiconnect24 and you just had to leave the Wii menu for more than 30 minutes without doing anything. However, this is not the case, as it completely depends on Wiilink

I tried to change different countries and languages (English, Spanish, french, Italian, Dutch and German) and at the end I report this situation with the Wiilink News Channel:

The channel works if after you go to the system settings:

  • You put UK :uk: as country and English as language
  • You put Spain :es: as country and Spanish as language
  • You put Netherlands :netherlands:as country and Dutch as language

The channel doesn’t work if:

  • You put Italy :it: as country and Italian as language
  • You put France :fr: as country and French as language
  • You put Germany :de: as country and German as language

So apparently, the channel is completely functional with :uk::es::netherlands:. The other three countries :it::fr::de: only shows news on the Wii menu, so they still have to solve the problem

that sux

True -_-

Officially, English is still the only fully supported language. Other languages are still under development, which is why they may give you 000006 errors.

the country doesn’t matter I tested it

No, also Spanish and Dutch. You can test it. The only languages that doesn’t work are Italian, french and German

See the “Wiilink news Channel problem” on the forum and it shows the current situation

The news channel got updated and now news.bin doesn’t work anymore, but atleast they brought back the uk version. Here’s results:

Language news.bin newslist.dat&newscontent.arc

Uk English no yes

German no no

French no no

Spanish no yes

Italian no no

Dutch no yes
