Updates for the Internet channel patch

Got it, and that’s why you have a new Wii number, WiiWare, right?

yes, I had to delete both entirely, which gave me a new wii number and relink my account

Btw. u may heard of RSSMii which allows u to subscribe to RSS Feeds on your Wii and get them in the Wii Message Board. Discourse (which this forum is powered) has many e.g. all posts or answers of a single topic, here more information: Finding Discourse RSS feeds - Using Discourse - Discourse Meta

For this post, the RSS Feed URL is WiiLink Forum - Latest posts and for this thread Updates for the Internet channel patch

If u want to get updates for the internet patch u can subscribe to it and directly get it into your wii message board!

I am not subscribing to it because I don’t want to make standby downloads slower.

Oh I Just realized o have not given an update in a while. Progress has been made but the major problem of it being refreshed every single secound still has not been fixed. I have been brainstorming ways. I have tried having a video stream of it that is interactive and that is in progress so fortunately I hope to get that working. Otherwise if you ignore the constant refresh of the internet channel page it works very well. I have also made it so it tricks the internet channel into thinking it is on the actually website it is supposed to be on even though technically it is only connected to my computer. This makes it so you can click the site data icon in the corner and be able to get data like the name and url and security. Additionally you can even bookmark sites with it using the real internet channel. Also I have finished adding text over laying all real text on the page so you can highlight it with the Wii cursor and each button on the real website the Wii now treats as a normal button that is invisible so all the normal stuff in the channel that happens when you click happens with my tool. I still have lots of exiting progress left to do in order to finish it.

I will likely need to have a homebrew app that you run only once. All it will do is each time you open the internet channel it tells my proxy what language the Wii is so the browser can be that language. You would only have to run it once and I can remove it to. But if I can I would put this inside the internet channel wad file so you don’t have to install

Thanks for your patience, this is just me and I have lots of stuff that come before this so this will be a good amount of time until it is fully running.

Does anyone know how to make a server run faster. I am running it of my computer right now and I am trying to have it be able to send the current stream faster and recive data like clicks faster. Thanks

Nice! Imagine getting this big answer from you on the wii via RSSMii!

So if I understood it correctly, the homebrew patches the installed internet channel. Also, what is the problem that it refreshes every second? If it is the infinite loading icon, (cursor and other things) u can simply just modify it, which does take time tho.

Can u take a video of it? U don’t have to do it, I can wait.

I think if RSSMii would send every answer directly to the Wii message board it would take up way too much storage (and you have to constantly back up your message board to your sd card) and in the worst case it could brick the console.

Yea that sucks but I once spammed 130+ letters to my wii via my email with images, no brick and I had 100+ images in total and it didn’t deleted message (and even if it lets u save to sd card and u can view it from wii message board)

CMOC Message Service also spams (with images)

Then it seems good, but this should be kept in mind

saw this comment on my wii via rssmii, I just subscribed to it

No way lmao

How’s the project going?

I thought it was an update for the internet channel patch from turbocat

It is going well. Technical limitations is the major thing holding this back. I am working on it but I can’t always be working on it all the time cause I have other stuff in real life that I am doing. So sit back and relax it will come before may is the goal.

More than one month ago, are u going to make a patcher, which will get the internet channel from NUS and patch it?

Good luck on your Internet Channel patch!

Thanks. It’s not easy but i am working on it. I have switched to FLV1 streaming which should fix the refresh problem. Soon I do hope to release it

I may do that but it should work without patching the channel but I may patch it so it automatically defaults to it being patched so the user doesn’t have to do anything
