Is there a serious possibility with the current knowledge of how the Wii works to actually update it through homebrew

Yeah we could and we kind of already do that with custom Wii menus
I’d like to maintain the 4.3 version and to revive the old functions than updating it, otherwise we lose the nostalgic thought of the Wii
Also, I personally think updating a Wii menu requires hard work.
One last thing, even though it’s not about the Wii, but is important. See John 3:16–17, where God demonstrates His love for us:

Priiloader and cIOS exist, System menu and IOS are often updated. (WSC too, often to force people update their wiis to use it)
