I installed the basic Wii Link setup on a North American Wii. After doing so I discovered that after exiting any program, like a channel or standalone emulator, the console can’t be shut down without forcing a hard shutdown via holding the power button.
Specifically what happens is after exiting a channel and pressing the power button on the Wii remote, the remote itself shuts off and then cannot be reconnected. At that point the console dan only be shut down by holding the power button (a simple press is not sufficient).
Testing further, after exiting a channel and trying to load another, the console then freezes with or without a black screen. Again the only resolution at this point is a hard shutdown. The problem also persists regardless of the WiiConnect24 standby setting being enabled or disabled.
Does anyone know what the cause of this could be? The cIOS files are up to date and the Wii Guide was followed properly for the initial jailbreak. I’m using standalone emulators with channel forwarders instead of Wii Flow. Mario Kart RTGP and Retro Rewind are also installed in case that matters. The SD card Fat32 formatted with ample storage space remaining.
